Salvia discolor (Salvia discolor)

A tender Salvia that is easily my longest flowering plant year in year out!

Such a beautiful photo! Salvia species from Mexico, Central and South America some of the most popular small shrubs here. Most are very drought tolerant.

I can believe that. If they get too dry they wilt - give 'em a drink and they soon perk up!

They wilt most likely because you have your plants in pots. In the ground they need no water all spring, summer and fall...and they grow and bloom perfectly.

Ahhhhh...........

The drought tolerance is the reason why so many Salvia species are so widely grown here.

See who else has plants in genus Salvia.

This photo is of "Blackcurrant Salvia" in Meanie's garden
