I have a larger A.attenuata in front, this is too nice to toss out. With Bromeliads growing on the Yucca. I planted that in the 80's. Just stick a cutting in the ground---a new tree!..that easy.

They are all blooming here, right now. Has yours ever bloomed in Hayward? When I lived in Hayward I never saw too many bloom...even though, it's a common Agave.

Nope...I'm thinking they never will. I just had the largest vandalized. It might make a giant cutting..and that wont flower.
I did talk to another old time exotic plant grower..she took photos of them blooming in San Leandro. It looked fantastic.
This city is just too rough to appreciate things like that.

Hi Sandra...I dont have much room for them. I do have an Agave gypsophyla. THAT makes a showy potted Agave- try to add the variegated version. I also have planted the Tequila Agave..great conversation piece!

Stan510:
There's some old, huge and beautiful Agave attenuata on Ocean View Drive (where I used to live many years ago). It's between Mission Blvd and Foothill Blvd in Hayward. It shouldn't be too far from where you live (maybe 4 miles, at most, right?). These plants would bloom almost every year (if they are still there).
