Costello looks well settled there ...
is Costello an indoor cat ?

Thanks, yes Terratoonie, Costello is an indoor cat. Occasionally, he'll venture out into the garden on a nice day he much prefers to stay inside.

He looks very healthy and happy ...
lucky cat to have a comfortable home and loving owners :o)

Thank you Terratoonie, he's barely a year old. I rescued him from a shelter at 4 months old. He's never been outside of a cage before.

So many dogs and cats needing homes ... and in the UK, the black coated dogs and black coated cats are often the hardest to place with new owners.

In fact some dog rescue places in the UK have special areas in their premises dedicated specifically to black dogs, in the hopes that their needs can be highlighted and new owners can be found.

It's the same here regarding black cats and dogs. They are the hardest to place for adoption. Costello was a couple days from being euthanized, but he's a great find. I named him after the comedian "Abbot & Costello" because of his personality. He makes me laugh so much trying to be a good cat - not always succeeding. He's completely black, not only his fur but his skin is black too.

He's quite a character Sandra. Thank you for your compliment. He usually runs under the sofa when he sees me with the camera (not kidding!). Except, when he's in his condo, he might let me take his picture, lol!

It's amazing how much they can probably remember from their bad start in life..My Aunt rescued a dog that had been mistreated, and he was never very trusting of even the ones who were closest to him.We could never go to him,and had to wait till he approached us,which wasn't often..Sad,isn't it?

Yes those early formative years are all important. I think people can be like that too - a product of their environment. Costello is just very shy and is very picky about who he associates with. I always have to seek him out, except if he's in his condo, then he won't run from me.
