lol,no just the opposite of modern and green,those are 1960's style car lot lighting poles. Fluorescent.
btw,Thats a hedge of Phormium along the bottom of the photo. Also if you close on one of these pics is Giant Bird of Paradise. Its a big one..but small compared to the trees around it.

Its been in the sunny 18-22c range as I translate American to Europe- wink.
I heard that by the second week of February decent rains return. We hope.

It's funny most people who haven't lived in the SF Bay Area don't realize the grass is golden brown most of the year and it turns green only in winter.
That's what I miss most about the San Francisco Bay Area, the green grass on the rolling hills during winter.

I've read others describe the rolling green hills as "Green as the grass in Ireland". That's close. Being pasture lands..it stays carpet like.

I lived in the SF Bay Area for 35 years and I remember El NiƱo years with tons of rain and the hill being so green from Hayward all the way south to Gilroy. It's was so super green and beautiful!
