Winter stems, hopefully these will darken in time...should be near black..

It is, I believe they like more sun to ripen the stems, will be much better in the new border...

I have this DD and it looks very similar, I was thinking of cutting mine right back to encourage some new dark stems maybe? :)

Daylily the time to cut back is really March, some harder than others though!
Dorjac most probably some stray Alliums!!

Thanks DD, I have cornus alba eligantissima, admittedly had it a long time, but we call it 'bully' because it grows huge, I was expecting kesselringii to be the same but seems much slower so far, have you found that with yours? :))

Daylily Kesselringii it is much slower than Elegantissima, as is Midwinter Fire, they are going to be kept under control as we do not have the room for them to take over the garden.......
