An interesting plant :o)

These primitive plants Howell,create some fascination to all who see them. Some are dedicated collectors of these plants that mostly are CITES tagged and not importable or even legal to own. H.squarrosa is the exception. It also is about the only one that can be grown outdoors in my climate. They others that grow in the tropics require all year warmth and high humidity. Strictly greenhouse plants.
Still,when I see some that are metallic blue,or some other exotic form, I wish I had that greenhouse.

Some club mosses (close relatives of this) grow wild in marshes here but they are not very common.
