Don't laugh at my cactus!

This poor cactus survived a devastating cat attack two years ago. It lived, but has grown this way ever since. Basically the cat nearly snapped it in half. I think it's grown together at the break, but I'm not sure.

The cat is fine. They somehow are able to dig the little cacti up by the roots and toss them about.
I'm expecting a Thelocactus bicolor from eBay to arrive this week. It's cold hardy to single digits so probably it will be safe from the cats outside. ?

I've got one of those. The flowers are beautiful :o)
I bring it in for the winter, because it is so wet here, that it would surely rot ...
