Naota it is Variable pink I think compost and light all have a bearing.
I used it for breeding some years ago retained the Frill but lost the nice pink.
Allionii Pinkie does that I have two plants in flower now and you would not think it the same variety

Any suggestion of compost? I normally use my house blend - 50% of multipurpose compost & 50% of loam-based soil (JI No.2) with generous portion of perlite and give them rain water (not tap water)

Naota
You are in clay pots that is a + for controlling the moisture, the compost is really what works for you I think you are on the East? which is a deal drier than me in the West so less problems with rotting off, personally I would not use 50% multi purpose as it would Likely sour my mix bearing in mind a lot of JI has a fair bit of peat in it so you are really upping it, I always have 5/6 mm horticultural grit between 10/20 % the larger the plant the more grit, rooted cutting need hardly any. Pearlite is good as it retains moisture and keeps the mix open.
Rainwater is without doubt best but never had any problems with tap water ours is heavy in lime from the Cotswolds but no Fluoride added that I would not be happy about .
Hope that's of Interest
