Daylily - 'Jan's Twister'

New for me this year. Only 9" across, but it is early, and hopefully it will rebloom at its full 12". DIP, UFO Crispate

That will be enormous! How big is the biggest flower head you have in your collection?

The largest has been last year's Waltz with the Wind X Aldersgate at 10.5". I have a few spider types, but with the DIP types, I am trying to put blue/red eyes on spiders. Most of the DIP seeds I started this year were Crystal Blue Persuasion x a spider type.

Wow, thanks for the info.

Oh for more space and more energy lol, I dug up a huge clump of Frans Hals today omg it only looked small I'm now looking with fear at all the huge clumps that need splitting eeeek.

I love this one and need it lol

More space Simbad! You should try gardening a pocket handkerchief, still requires a lot of energy and also ruthfullness.

Fortunately I had a lot of plants removed or relocated before I broke my arm. But there is another Amethyst Reflections x Unk that already has 12 scapes on the clump, so it is on my fall to-do list; and the Eder 0084 clump needs dividing.
Hopefully this one is a fast multiplier - I got a single fan in September, and there are 2 fans now.

Sorry to hear about your arm, hope it's on the mend now.

Thanks for asking - it is doing pretty good. I finally got over the fear that if I picked up something kind of heavy, it would come apart :) Almost done planting the new seedlings in the ground (only 200 this year).

only 200 wow
Hope your arm is better soon

Like you Simbad space and energy I will be more selective in what I am buying and rather that a impulse buy !!

I have found that I spend the same amount on new plants, but I buy fewer, more expensive ones; something that fills a need (I don't have a lot of DIP spiders, so I got Jan's Twister). In about 10 days I can get a couple more, and will spend that time narrowing down my wish list to 3 or 4 plants.

same as me , only two daylily a year now can pass over the threshold , with all the seedlings I have.
Been a lot on ebay from a Belgium grower some beauties as well ......

The Belgium dealer is where I got Jan's Twister and several others last fall. He is very reasonably priced, although he no longer does combined shipping on ebay, which can get very expensive. I have been such a good customer at Taglilienshop.de/ that he gives me a 10% discount, and a bonus plant. He also keeps track of everything so that I have never gotten a bonus plant that was a duplicate.
