Its been a good year for them its interesting that yours are in a damp /wet area Philip as mine cover a large dry area some under Holly trees and are doing equally as well maybe they aren't as fussy as we think ....

I do have them growing in my own garden under a pittosporum in sandy soil, I think they are just fickle.
