This Allamanda is starting to put out the first flowers of spring. It did have some flowers in January, though. Photo taken April 7, 2015.

No, I have to water it almost every day with reclaimed water from my washing machine (which is stored in my 55 gallon water containers). This year was the first time ever none of my 55 gallon containers were not filled up by rain water.
My Allamanda 'Cherries Jubilee' is growing like crazy and it's flowering, now. I cut it back a week ago so it would not be in the way.

Lovely to see buds appear is nt it do you dig wells around the plants when watering then the water slowly waters it lasting longer. I wonder if it would tolerste clay soil which holds water better.

It typically starts blooming in late April...this year it hasn't started flowering yet.
I'm sure it would tolerate clay soil.

Better late than never lol at least its stsrtung now cant wait to see it in full bloom . Thats good if it can take a bit of clay my whole garden has 2ft of top soil but under that all clay I live on what they locally call the Red Hills seldom do I need to water even in a heat wave.

It's good not to have to water much. I have to water every day here. Everything dries out so quickly here.

I can see why with such arud contions of drought I only wster if I see the plant drooping as I am on a water metre.

The plants droop here all the time. This is why I need to water all the time.

Yes that I can see when we don't get much rain our plants droop and we have cool climate so I can understand why you need to water every day.

Yes, this past winter (January, February) was the only time I didn't have to water in many, many years! :>))
