I googled this and it came up as cheilanthifolia. Is it hardy in the uk? I can see you have it planted in the garden alongside some aquilegia. Is it invasive in uk? It seems to dislike an acid soil but is supposed to be easy from seed. I like the leaves even better now that I know I am not seeing things when I think the leaves seem to be tinged with bronze.

yes just a typo sorry and it has been fully hardy in my east Yorkshire garden. it seeds gently and I have it growing chalky soil. if you'd like one send me a pm. I have several small ones that I am happy to lift

Hi again Seaburngirl the plant was doing lovely in it's pot until the terrible winds snapped it off but we have planted it deeper and it is a bit droopy but it is surviving on a quarter inch root at the moment. It seems to be a toughie.

if it keels over and dies just let me know and I'll send you a replacement. the winds have been terrible here too.

Thank you for the offer but I will take a rain check for now if that is okay with you.

Hi again, the plant has recovered well, and survived a good burying of the tiny bit of root that was left on it. I am really pleased that it's coming along o.k. again. Thanks Linda x

told you it was a toughie.

My plant has had some flowers and I've just cut off the outside fronds that have died back but the centre is growing well again. Yes a real toughie, but lovely. Thanks.
