First Dahlia in flower !!!

Wow, I am jealous. I just put the tubers in the soil. I have to dig them up every fall as they would rot over winter. Too much rain here.

I cheated and planted the tubers in large pots about six weeks ago, have now transplanted them into the border. This is the only one in flower as yet.

Ah....that make sense. Some people can leave them in the soil....but we are just too wet in winter. It is very pretty. Looks like Karma choc?

Well I try to get about 6 weeks extra flowers this way, but have never had one open this early.

I really like these darker colors, nice!

That is early, love the deep red colour;0)

It now has four flowers on it, none of the others have flowers yet, but were planted at the same time.
