Father duck was ignoring the mother and babies. One duckling, obviously the leader of the gang jumped out of the pond and raced across to feed when it saw us approaching. His/her siblings quickly followed. Mum looked exhausted and we could almost hear her sigh as she chased after them. As soon as he had had his fill, No.1 duckling scooted across and jumped back into the pond. Mum was upset and started quacking at her offspring as they took off again. Her alarm woke Grumpy pa up and he stirred himself to see where they were. His siesta was over for that session. It was lovely to see the little family.

Aaaaw lucky you, we had a pair visit every day for several weeks but they didn't build a nest, quite glad really as we have to many cats and other predators in our garden, lovely to see them though.
