When you put a parent in "brackets" is this because you have made this cross previously or because you happen to know the parents of someone else's cross.?

The brackets mean that it is an unregistered seedling, and the parents are known. (Angel Fairy Tern × Judge Nancy) was from seed I bought on the Lily Auction; but this year, all the new seedlings are my own crosses. It is all to let someone know what was used, another way it could be written is: Core Values × sdlg. According to the AHS, the correct × to use is ALT + 0125, and not upper/lower case X.

Oh, I get it, the seedling has no name, but I was able to google the parents, so could see what the look like. Thanks Wylie, that's interesting.
