Everything here seems to be exploding into colour and greenery Paul. The birds are singing wonderfully and they are so active feeding their young. We have 3 hedgehogs visiting the garden at night. Our Mason bees have hatched out in the small boxes I have on the fence and it's just a lovely time of the year.

Wow, mason bees. That's interesting. I'm greeted by robins every morning when I have my coffee in the garden. They don't mind me watching them till the lawn for worms and grubs.

Mason bees are a very small bee that hatches out in April and the males come out first then the females. They are really good pollinators so they fertilise our apple trees. The males die first after mating with the queens and the queens store food for their brood and lay eggs in the small cut cane holes then seal them with mud and they die out at the end of the summer. They don't hatch out again until the following springtime.
I love the Robins. They get so tame at this time of the year and they love mealworms. We have a nesting pair around here and the song the male sings is wonderful.
