The lily has filled in and is starting to bloom

I love lilies of the valley, where on your land are they?
I am afraid I cleared out a lot whilst taking all the old plants out, hope some remained and will show nxt year.

Hi M! They are at the south end of our house, on a tiny hillock, which I think may have been an old tip for garden refuse. The first year they were just a few and hardly visible through the leaf layer at the forest edge hemmed in with scrub trees and wild raspberry. they seem happy that I cleared the mess out and they're spreading out into the grass. Can send you some pips if you like. I have transplanted some to the hosta bed near the front door. We've had three days of extra cold nights and I've lost the new growth on the Sumach which I planted to shade them! It's been ridiculously cold, I have my veg patch tilled and ready but I'm afraid to plant. the weather is so chancy.

Thank you for the offer lori, but alth one or two seem to have survived I want to create more shade before I attempt to increase them. Your sumach will grow agsin quickly, they are another of life's indestructibles!!
I have picked one of my broad beans and they are nearly ready...very exiting. Uprooted one of my carrots by mistake yest and found it tasted good so harvest time not far off..
Btw I have loads of poppy orientalis seed of the patty's plum variety left fr last year, if you wld like some I can send you some to sow this autumn for nxt year? I have been weeding them out by the hundreds and still have hundreds left but with more room for them to breath now

That would be so wonderful, M! will send you my address in a pm. I love the orientals. Just bought a perennial poppy so I hope it blooms...but chances are it will be next year before I see any. I have the annuals and they come every year from the seed I harvest. can I send you some of them? I'm pretty sure I have a pic of them... pink with fringy petals. :-)
