Everything is taking off, but something is still eating large holes in the Gunnera, whatever it is, it must have huge teeth!!

Hope this might help you DD with your pest photos to of large holes and solutions what it could be. Not sure if you know if you get seeds as I do if you cut them off the leaves grow bigger.

Bless you Karen, I think it is that time of year, what with the wet, wet, wet, etc making us question what we should be growing....
5 Nov, 2015
Yes, I understand. Do you remember last year when all the leaves fell off my apple trees in July? What a dire thing that was..but this year, completely different. November 5th and they still have plenty of leaves. You never can tell what things will do from one year to the next with our weather!

So true Karen, we must (not you) pull up our socks and stop being so wet!! lol

Well...300 yards is very close....I can see your problem!

We could be fighting a loosing battle with some plants, I have to admit there are very few of the neighbours growing roses, now I can understand why....

Perhaps you could try the rugosa and hybrids then!
6 Nov, 2015
I really don't think we have the space for them, Rugosa is fine for hedging, but I wouldn't want it in the border!!
