Baby Sitting

I had do stay in my back garden all day baby sitting this red robin chick as his parent was very busy feeding all day. There was magpies perched on the tree at the back of the garden. I think they may have killed his brother or sister as there was a scatter of feathers on the lawn. I stayed with it till about 9pm till it hopped behind a bush. First thing this morning I went out to the back garden to see if I could see it. I had no luck so I don't know if it survived the night, I hope it did'

So cute, how lovely you baby sat it, shame about the other one, I am sure it survied after you left it. Here the RSPCA or RSPB would say leave it where you found it even if it s injured, so you done the right thing.

Thank you Michaella, and Thrupennybit. It showed no fear it hopped around the garden and kept chirping to be fed, the poor robin must have been knackered coming and going all day trying to shut it up lol. My grandson Charlie who is 2 taught it was great fun. I had a heck of a job trying to keep Charlie away from catching him. I do hope he is ok, I like robins they are always around you when you are gardening.

I am sure your grandson Charlie will take after his grand dad when grown up caring for wild life.
