Daylily cross - Joy of Life sdlg × Lip Smack

Wylieintheazores, is this one of your creations? I love it, congratulations! This cultivar is a winner! I find the subtle difference in shades very striking with the ruffled edges adding a touch of elegance, but not too much. How do I get one for my garden here in NY? Is it at all possible?

Thanks - it is one of mine. Starting this year, the new seedlings are all mine. I bought seeds in the past, but now I have enough to develop my own lines.
Unfortunately, it would be very expensive to have anything sent to the US. Phytosanitary certificates cost €100 and are required. It is the same for importing anything to here from the US. Then there are Customs fees, permits, and the need to be sent air mail.
Seeds are much easier, and the import permit to the States is free (Google small seed lot permit) with no need for the Phyto certificate. However, even a self cross does not result in an exact copy.

Wow! so much "red tape" for a simple daylily. You'd think we were talking about radioactive uranium, lol! I understand you must comply with international law. I hope it becomes available somehow. I prefer this one over Martha Stewart's "Frosted Vintage Ruffles" and she's doing quite well.

I have 'Frosted Vintage Ruffles' and need to divide it this year It is actually very nice ... it is an "edge-no-eye" type, which can be hard to find.

I'm still waiting for my FVR to bloom. I've only seen pictures of it. Last year I got a lot of leaves; I'm hoping it blooms this year. How long does it take to bloom? I planted the bare roots 2 years ago that were packaged in saw dust from a big box store.

I just got another one called "Grape Magic" - the color of grape juice as name implies with green eye. It's a prolific bloomer and stand out.

It should bloom this year, and soon as it is an early type. I often get plants that take 2 years for the first flower. Just use some Miracle-Gro once a month.
