There's nothing like homegrown vegetables. :>)
I just planted crook neck squash, and golden bar squash with some watermelon and eggplants just last week. It all should have been planted in mid-February; however, we have a 365/day growing season here in San Diego, so it doesn't matter so much when it's planted. LOL! :>))

must be great to be able to grow veg all year around...although with our tunnel we can nearly do that here..

Yes, it is great! However, the last 4 or 5 years I haven't planted a vegetable garden because of the historical, extreme drought here in California.
Here in San Diego we do grow the winter crops like: lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, cabbage, snow peas and cauliflower...and there's many more. These don't need the longer days of summer.
