Ceanothus & Honeysuckle

Love ceanothus, pity they are not long lived tho. Mine have failed when they are starting to be really big & beautiful. Yours is looking splendid.

I planted this one when I moved in 14 years ago and it's showing no signs of dying yet. The ground cover ones have long gone but 'Puget blue' & 'Yankee point' are still going strong :o)

Yours looks very happy,I think your steep site suits them well. I read this about them:
They are often said to be short-lived (5-10 years), but I think that is often due to the fact that people over water them. They need to be planted in well-draining soil, and they don’t like regular garden water.‘Yankee Point’ which will take more water than most and can also tolerate more of a clay soil than other varieties. But remember it still doesn’t like a lot of fuss and it doesn’t like fertilizer much.
