Around here, the white crinums are easy to find, but having a red one is unusual.

Thanks. I am still hoping the white with red stripe one I have will flower this year.

Just been close to you! Haha! Madeira. There were C, asiaticum, (bought a bulb of it, stupid really, very large if it survives the winter cold here.) and everywhere Agapanthus and Stelitzia growing.

As long as it is protected from freezing, it should survive. Being just a little bit cooler than Madeira, the Agapanthus and Strelitzia grow here like weeds, along with hydrangeas and hedychium (yellow ginger). What is a real bargain there are orchids.

Yes, I bought some Cymbidium pseudo bulbs, as well as the Crinum. I have a 20? Year old Strelitzia in a large pot in our conservatory, had 7 flowers this year.

My Strelitzia nicolai has finally stopped for the year after having flowers for the last 6 months.. It took 10 years from seed to flower, and this year there were 3 stalks. Each one has around 5 heads (there are photos on here of it).

Yes, I saw it sometime in the recent past.
