I like them. They're very common here. I need to get more. I want the purple, red, orange, pink, salmon, yellow and white.

The purple and yellow with the orange..like those grafted Bougainvilleas, are a riot of color.

They give great color in the landscape.

My neighbor has their side, front and back yard covered with these orchids.

Do you call them red orchids? Because I heard different English name for theme on this webpage. I think, somebody called it Red valeriana.

No,just reed orchids. My wife says in the Philippines they are called- accurately enough, "Ground Orchids".

Valerian is another plant altogether. Herbal.

Stan, is the one on the left side the salmon-colored variety?

They aren't mine Andy,so I cant add to what you see. He or she, was a cool Orchid lover. Around the side of his/her house I could see pots of Cymbidiums shoulder to shoulder.

It looks like salmon, yellow and purple.

I have one. It was $5 on sale 2-3 years ago. It need a long time to recuperate just blooming this month- red-orange.
But!..it seems like the few I've seen around the eastbay are big potted clumps. So,I guess they are fast growers when you get them happy.

They are fast growing and flower all year. Sometimes if they get too much water they rot, though. I think that's what happened to mine.
