It is a NZ plant, as you know we like to grow a few plants from there...

Dodonaea viscosa 'Purpurea' is native to California and the Southwest U.S.

It become very dark purple in very hot weather which we have here in the Southwest.

They turn so dark here that they almost look black. They stay that way all year with the exception of the green form.
