I bought this at Walmart last May or June as a 3" potted houseplant. From that to this greeting you at the side stairs Ficus elastica
One of my favorite plants already even if not rare or expensive.

I love Ficus, also. It can take over, though, when grown in the ground.
I pass by this tall Ficus elastica 'Decora' when I go to work. It's very upright (instead of the typical very wide growth) and about 50' (15m) tall. I'll have to get a photo one day. It's such a commonly planted tree here in San Diego.
