Pyracantha in different colours with an amazing amount of berries this year. I think they're trying to strangle my oil tank so I suppose I'd better cut them back a bit. Shame really as the birds have a good feed on these.

I'm afraid the birds here aren't so fussy and they'll have my Sorbus cashmeriana stripped in days. On the plus side I find seedlings everywhere, and this after trying to grow from the berries for years. Nature does the job all by herself.

So you think the seeds have to pass thro' the birds in order to germinate?

For the Sorbus, yes, not sure about Pyracantha. I suppose not as I've grown them from seed myself.

Thanks for the info. Lied about my yellow berried Pyracantha, just shooed off a pidgeon.

Is that a yellow flowered one? The birds don't touch my yellow berries only the orange.
