Thanks all! We prefer the natural shrubby look to growing them as a standard.
"If it's cut back a little after flowering it'll flower again and again."
Not before the frosts arrive it won't!

I forgot you have a short growing season.
My Angel's Trumpets have been blooming very well through summer. This is even through the horrible heat and humidity, which they tend to not like (they wilt during the day, though). Of course, late fall through early spring is when they grow and flower best.

It looks great! Mine have been flowering every month for the last year or so.
If it's cut back a little after flowering it'll flower again and again.
