Is this a house wren? They are unusual here, I'm not sure I've ever seen one. Great photo, cute little guy!

I love wrens, and we have a resident in our garden somewhere. Your wrens seem to be much paler than those we see here. The wren is the UK's smallest bird. Beautiful pic!

We have a number of wrens in N. Am. the smallest is the Winter wren which is only 3 1/2 in long. The most common in my area is the Carolina Wren which is 4 1/2-5 in long. and they are real curious little guys!
House wrens are supposed to be all over the US but not common.

I have to retract my life-long belief that our wrens are the smalllest British bird, as the Goldcrest can be even smaller. The wren, however, has in the past been a symbol on our old coinage (prior to decimalisation), when it was thought to be the smallest native bird. I love when ours apppears along the perimeter fence, scooping up insects, with its extraordinary loud voice when our cat gets too close for comfortI Wish i could capture it on camera.
