Usually. we buy Fyffes bananas in the shops, but don't usually see bananas growing here in Fife! Also, looks like someone tried one or two.

Well, if I could only cover my own entire garden with a glass roof, I'd have a go, lol! I think that the gardeners ate the missing bananas. Also, even more interestingly, I was told of a French vinery company's very serious plans to establish grapeyards and a winery in Scotland, as some areas have weather now very conducive to this.........must investigate this!

I doubt it, Irish, hehe! I'm sure I've tried this once, on a visit to Buckfast Abbey, years ago.

Could it be they are planning to produce Ice Wine? you have the climate to freeze grapes right? Some of the best and most expensive wine produced here in Canada is from the Niagara Region where the grapes must be frozen on the vine to produce the sugar content special to ice wine.
