Brought this orchid back from trip to Bruge 2 yrs ago so am so pleased to see it flowering for me again. There are 6 flowers on the stem but some are facing away so difficult to show them all.
Don't know which variety so I just call it yellow orchid.

Thanks Amy, I love the idea of a plant being the memento of a special memory unfortunately I have varying degrees of success.
A 5 yr old moth orchid was reliable until last year but then all the promising flower buds suddenly dried up & fell off - gutted I was!

I know how you feel ,I had an elderly neighbour who had an endless supply of plants & flowers they seemed to bloom one after the other all the year round I'm lucky if i have one with repeat flowers ...

I suspect our houses are to blame! You probably already know they need bright sunlight but not direct, a moist atmosphere but cool in their winter rest period.
Not exactly how I like to live, lol.

I banish mine to the greenhouse all summer and then don't bring them in until the first sign of frosts ... its probably to hot a contrast when they do come in ... !

I look at where they grow naturally & do my best to provide similarly but the moist atmosphere is the part I think I have most trouble with. Misting helps, I think.
