This South American member of the Iris family caught me by surprise. It was on the top shelf of the greenhouse staging as the seed was only sown in January and I wasn't expecting flowers this year.

What conditions did you germinate this in? Surface/covered; with heat, etc. I have the seeds for Calydorea pallens that I want to start, and was thinking of using the paper towel method with heat. I also have the seeds for 3 types of Cypella ;)

If my memory serves me correctly they were sown in pots of 50/50 MPC and vermiculite on a warm windowsill.

Thanks! I need to get the seeds started, then.

Checking my seeds today, they are starting to sprout! I used the paper towel method, so I will be moving them to individual pots soon.
