I talked to another San Diegan Andy...the drought has been rough. And he specializes in Cacti and Succulents. I got lucky so far.
We got hit on the head today with a few drops "The drought is over!!' I said to the wife and her friends. I hope it becomes true.

Yes, the drought has been severe here. I have lost so many plants because I can't get them enough water in the very hot weather we've had for many, many weeks at this point. We're still getting morning lows in the low 70's (at least it's not in the upper 70's like a couple weeks ago!), which is pretty rare for this late in the year. The daytime highs have been between 85 - 98ºF. I know you must know how warm our coastal ocean water temps have been...between 74 - 79ºF. This is more typical of early August if it gets this high. With this being said: the water temps are the warmest ever recorded for this time of year.

What's so strange was back in March our coastal water temps were consistently around 70ºF. This was the warmest recorded so early in the year.
