thank you Thrupennybit, yes it has put on a show. I moved it two years ago and it has never looked back. Only moved it about 3ft but it has made a huge difference it never flowered where it was previously. lol.

It's looking terrific!

And the perfume is great too, ours is about a week behind, not as many flowers though....

Wow, I must check mine, I'd forgotten they could flower so early in the year.

25 Oct, 2015

Have not been up to smell it, maybe tomorrow - Didn't know they were perfumed. lol. It's too dark now.

Thanks Waddy and Dd :O)

Certainly looking splendid, it's very early, isn't it?

No idea of the time they are supposed to flower, just love it. lol but still not managed to get out there to sniff the perfume lol. Been to Brigg garden centre today to see the Christmas stuff. Lottie absolutely loved the dancing Polar bears, but it was sooooooooooooo busy, half term and nice day, think everyone had thought the same as us. It was rammed with people, children and Granny's and Grandads, but it was an absolutely outstanding display if a little on the expensive side to see Father Christmas and much too early to go and sit on Santas knee. Well I think so. Will save that visit for a later date. lol.

Dec - Feb time, I think. Sounds like you had a lovely day, it was beautiful sunny day here too up until lunch time anyway, I totally agree about Santa.

Simbad's is flowering too and she says its normally around Christmas time.

thanks for that Greenfinger and Dawnsaunt :O) must be because it is so mild here.

Well, I'm not so sure about that now as I've just seen a really big one (6ft tall & wide at least) in the next village which looked stunning. It looked as tho it had big yellow stars all over it. Maybe it's more due to the variety as to when it flowers.

Check my M Charity today and its still in bud.

29 Oct, 2015

sorry have no idea which variety this one is, lost label yet again. lol :O)

29 Oct, 2015

Looks like Charity with those spikey leaves Olive. Its good to hear Im not the only one that loses labels - its amazing where they vanish to - probably the same place as odd socks. :-)

lol and babies dummies lol I can never find one when Lottie is tired and I need her to have a nap. lol.

Weird that I never get notified of your pics Mum. Love the Mahonia. Mine tends to flower in December.

30 Oct, 2015

wonder if you added me to your favourites when changed your account that could be the answer. Its not a problem you get there eventually lol.

30 Oct, 2015

No, definitely not that. Your photo always comes up in the thumbnails of favourites who have recently added pics. But your name is hardly ever in the list underneath. I'll keep a better eye on the thumbnails.

That's lovely - like a firework!

Santa in October is definitely too soon. He should back home making the toys!

31 Oct, 2015

My daughter tells me that anything Christmas related before December 1st is banned in Germany! If that's true...and it could be....I approve! Does anyone else Know of this?

31 Oct, 2015

I'm afraid not. The Christmas Markets begin in November. But Santa in October is ludicrous.

31 Oct, 2015

Yes it is. It's actually quite cruel to the children I think. To expect them to get all hyped up in October and have to wait two- three months for the big day is far too much to expect.

I agree K. absolutely ridiculous....

2 Nov, 2015

I used to tell my Reception children, right up to the end of term, that it was a long time until Christmas Day. A week is an age to them, and - as you say, Karen - it is so unfair to let them think it's just round the corner.
