Amaryllis Black Pearl

Wow thats early! and what a colour...despite being upside down lol it looks a corker.

It seems whenever I trim a photo down it goes haywire. As usual my amaryllis has grown overlong again. I read somewhere to feed it with some hard alcohol and water, 1:5 ratio as the alcohol resticts the water intake of the plant and makes it stronger and sturdier. Not that it was ever in danger of being over watered, just the opposite. I will have to try this next year when they start growing again. But yes very happy with the colour, I love the dark ones.

Let me know if that works, you should see the state of ours!!

How do you manage to keep them upright Dd? Mine are tied up n strapped in to the hilt, not exactly aesthetically pleasing! Somebody recently posted a blog on amaryllisi??
Must find out and see if he/she can solve this problem.

We do have to stake ours, ask on the Internet, someone is bound to know the answer..

So I can flop over instead of my amaryllis...yea good thinking Bjs. I seem to need less alcohol each year to reach that stage..
