There's so many Aloe flowering at the San Diego Zoo right now. Photo taken Jan. 26, 2016.

Some Aloe species are past peak flowering, already. They typically start flowering in December here. Most species of Aloe are winter-flowering.

Typically, the SF Bay Area Aloe species are about two months behind the flowering here.

Yep,there is a trunking A.ferox near the wife's church. I posted it last year on GOY in bloom. Can't remember what month.

I really like A. ferox! Aloe thaskii is another one of my favorites. It grows to 25 plus feet tall.

I saw that Aloe- its in bloom. The sun was right behind it..I couldn't take a pic from the car.
Thraskii is a beast. It reminds me of a African Water Buffalo or maybe Brahma bull.

Aloe traskii is a very tall plant; however, Aloe bainsii is the tallest and largest one that grows in California (as far as I know).
