Vestia foetida

By Meanie

Vestia foetida (Vestia foetida)

This is about eight to ten weeks early this year and as a result the colour is not so good. However there are enough buds to keep it going for a good few weeks so hopefully the colour will improve with the longer daylight hours.

I like this, not one I know Meanie.......rather like Correa.....

It's a spring blooming member of the Solanaceae family from Chile. Hardy down to about -10°c or thereabouts.
I'll be trying some cuttings in the spring.

Possible for growing here then, what about coping with winter wet though?

Takes normal wetness but I doubt that it will enjoy having sodden roots.

Pity we have a lot of very sodden plants this year....
