Foxtail Palm - (Wodyetia bifurcata)

My Foxtail palm is finally getting bigger. With all the droughts we've had since it's been in the ground it hasn't grown much in the last five years. Photo taken Feb. 15, 2016.

Foxtail palms are definitely a borderline palm for the SF Bay Area. I used to have one in Fremont. It grew; however, it never thrived. They're very common here in San Diego. There's several large ones in my neighborhood.

The trees are much larger now. There's dozens of Wodyetia bifurcata and Wodveitchia along with Veitchia 'Soledad' and several other exotic palms at this house. It's only about a half mile from where I live.

Large enough to enjoy. I think they can be grown here. Mine just sat and sat. I dug it out many years ago. It was where the King palms are now. THEY do something...lol
