Never see them in the West. I'm not a birder....but I have never seen any.

All I know is that when cardinals start singing - spring is almost here and that's what this little guy was telling me this morning.

I think so Amy. Cardinals don't lie. lol, I see the days getting brighter and longer and things starting to pop up in the garden - all sure signs.

It's such a brightly colored bird! I've seen them in the San Francisco Bay Area (they weren't that brightly colored, though). Here in San Diego I've never seen one. We do have lots of colorful feral parrots, though.
