The leaves of this appeared in my garden 2014 & it flowered 2015.

Thanks Sterra, it's a creamy yellow & brownish, most unusual , never seen one like it before.
Just Googled it & appears you are right, it's a shame I cut off the dead flower stems ( I have to tidy ) I won't make the same mistake this year.

That's a very pretty iris. Not all irises bloom every year. Some bloom whenever they feel like it. It can be propagated through root division and should be divided every three years.

These come true to seed as well and will happily seed themselves if they like where they are.

I think it's lovely too Bathgate, not that everyone feels the same according to the 'Googling' I've done on it.Hopefully it will flower again this year.
I will look forward to that Sterra.

Looks like Iris foetidissima. Should have a pod of scarlet seeds after flowering.Its a woodland shade lover.
