Looks good with the silverfish colour of Opuntia.

There is a chance Klahanie its a variety of P. nigra called "Othello". Same all around as the species except it doesn't run,it clumps. Hardy to zone 7. Might do well in Vancouver-wink,wink.

I have to remember that Stan. I planted Phyllostachys Rubromarginata, Red Margin Bamboo couple of years back. I also have one of those big leaf bamboos ...which is not doing very well for me.
I think most of the bamboos can be grown in our area. Garden centers are well stocked with wide range of varieties.
