Big old Aloe o' mine.

Aloe marlothii. I thought I had posted it already. Its about 12 maybe 15 years old with 3' of trunk and stands about 5' overall,give or take.
I had to move this plant 3 years ago as the wicked thorns were getting too close to the sidewalk. Here,its free to grow- but not quite the hi light levels of before. So,foliage is green without the splashes of orange and turquoise when in hot sun all day.
Bee's LOVE this guy.

No harm I would think. Funny- I just read yesterday that the skirt helps the plant balance itself I think it was.
I can't figure out why.
I do know Homebird that the skirt does visually add mass..otherwise that big heavy crown of foliage seems too large for the trunk.
My wife did once "clean it up"..I wasn't happy with the look.
Something about at least a few old leaves makes it even more exotic. Maybe just to me.
