Polyanthus Gold Laced Group....

This one is even more distinctive than the last.

This one if you were showing it (which you are not) would be classed as Silver lace, as Siris say they can be more attractive than the gold lace
Like all Polyanthus unless they are divided they exhaust the soil around them and deteriorate after a few years.

Right, this time we will divide them, because we would like to keep them in the garden, Andrew says to feed them?

all the primrose and polyanthus family are gross feeders mine are lucky if they get a bit of fertilizer spread around them once a year,like the plants I am spread to thinly on the ground these days.
They are not known for dividing very well thats why as far as I know you will only find clones not named varieties,they grow easily from seed, if you look at them in the garden ctr you do not see two the same.

Well Brian you live and learn !! had no idea re the feeding, no wonder ours never look good past the first couple of years, we will be feeding from now on.....thanks.

That's what's wrong with my gold laced ones then. I'm off to feed them right away. Hope they'll perk up a bit.
