castor bean adds tropical touch

I started these from the beans last May!... they do like lots of sun...they are the source of castor oil... they bloom...(I hope eventually to have pics of same)...and in my opinion they are dead easy! they are, however, poisonous... you should not handle the beans or the plant just to be on the safe side..and not a good idea if you have grazing animals..! That is their downside...so if that's no concern.... go for it Youngdaisy!!

Everything is really looking great Lori. Your caster bean puts mine to shame. I love the way yours started branching off very close to the ground !

The stems look like lacquered mahogany!!! they are the most gorgeous red and have a very high sheen! Have learned also that they should be background plants with their backs to some kind of support...first thunderstorm and highwinds both of the plants started leaning...and needed staking.
