This a compact cultivar. Perfect for the corner of a small yard. Rare.

I got this from a landscaper at the Oakland Zoo. The Mother plant Andy is OLD,and not more than 3' and its getting sun all day long with no other shrubs competing with it. Its in the old Camel enclosure closed last time we went. Since 1999 when I first saw the compact Kumara, its only gotten wider seems like.
AND- A cutting I started about 10-12 years ago? Compact.
These will never be those head tall Kumara's in Ruth Bancroft garden or soucal.

I think 3 or 4 feet is the tallest they grow.

They look wonderful! I like when they grow really big, then flower.
