Ginko Biloba ........last of the sunshine!

Ginko Biloba ........last of the sunshine!

This massive tree overlooks our garden, one of the last to leaf up, you can see by the lean on our Silver Birch just how much wind blows through this garden! especially this last winter!

Thanks Amy, away, and I hope it has some good roots, hard to believe that tree came south with us 16 years ago in a pot, no bigger than 4 ins!! it hitched a ride!! still it would make for some good logs for the fire lol

Lol You are thinking the same way as us ' woodies ' Angela ,Tony spent the entire morning helping a neighbour fell a conifer so that we could have the timber in exchange for the loan of our chainsaw luckily the neighbour doesn't have a wood burner , are you enjoying your fire ?

Oh that was helpful, Peter is not up to dealing with that side of logging these days...... we are both really enjoying the fire, so pleased we decided to have one!?☺?

What a lovely photo! I removed my Ginko last year Angela. It was pretty dull really and all I had to look forward to was it getting too big. So out it came and replaced with a Cotoneaster which gives me more colour with lovely red berries.

The leaves were attractive Karen........ Ours was made into a standard, but had to come out because it was in the wrong place, and impossible to save.!

Yes, you're quite right about the leaves. But in a limited space like ours a tree has to have more than one point of interest. I bet that tree is about 300 years old...they grow very slowly.

They are slow growers, I have to admit I do miss ours, but it was right under the concrete path, actually if I had left it there, it would have been fine, because we took up the path in the end, and I would have been able to reposition it somewhere else, more suitable......they actually do a lovely variegated one!! now theres a thought! lol
