Fritillaria latakiensis - 2016

Very similar to F. elwesii, but the flowers have more purple and less green. It also comes primarily from Syria and needs full sun; elwesii is from southwest Turkey and will tolerate a little shade.

Meanie - we are opening on 30th April. That is plenty early enough as there is still a lot of work to do, raking up dead leaves, weeding and feeding, and other minor tidying jobs. It is now 10am and I intend to spend the rest of the day out there.

Apart from a lunch break, I was out from 10 until 5pm when light rain started here in Bracknell. The forecast for tomorrow is similar.
