Hybrid between Rhododendron carolinianum & R. dauricum var. sempervirens
The initials P.J.M. stand for Peter J. Mezitt, patriarch of Weston Nurseries, Hopkinton, Massachusetts, where the cultivar originated. PJMs are best known of late winter or earliest spring bloomers.
I purchased this rhododendron last year and it is still in the small pot. I hope to find a permanent home for it this spring. Maybe amongst some ferns. Generally I do not like such pink flowers but I bought it for its very early blooms.
