My little flowering cherry, Prunus incisa 'Kojo-no-mai'. I've had this a lot of years and last year it broke out of it's terracotta pot, where the label was hidden for years too, so was potted into a bigger one. For a while last summer I thought it would die but it has bounced back this year very nicely.

Have you bonsai-ed this or is it naturally small.

Thanks Bjs. I have had this fifteen or more years and it has always been small Siris. I just looked out the label, very faded, but gives height as 100cms and spread as 100cms. there are a few faded sun and shade signs and a definite X through pruning. Mine is in sun most of the day. This is one of the things I don't bother with when I find seedlings from the little cherries. I might have a rethink on that.

It is a really pretty plant. Do you think the seedling will come true to type?

No telling Siris, but I'm going to keep all the seedlings this year and give it a try. I usually just pull them when they're small and bin them.

That will be an interesting exercise.

I think the birds must eat the little cherries and then drop the stones Siris. I don't know why I never bothered before because for me, it's the thrill of growing something new or different so I'll have to give it a go.

Keep us informed of your progress. Did I tell you I have tiny seedlings from Heuchera Kassandra, after reading of your success with Heuchera seed. Thank you for the inspiration.
