I take the Trachycarpus fronds that are old,cut the petioles and let them dry- woody and bamboo like.
Thrifty.

I pruned my T. fortunei back a couple months ago. I need to cut my T. wagnerianus back now. It has even longer petioles because it's in semi-shade.

I've seen T.fortunei with the trunks fiber stripped off- I might do that with mine.
Never seen that with a Waggie. How does it sound to you? Heresy?!

I really like Trachycarpus with cleaned trunks they look very clean and exotic for a common palm.
